Just wanted to let everyone know that Luna is doing sooooo much better now and is being picked up by her foster TODAY!!!!! I was a little worried last week which is why I did not send anything out, but am more confident now
She is still a little anemic but I think with some good nutrtion and TLC she will get better.
BLackie her kitten was also adopted at the Best Friends ACATAMY AWARDS last SATURDAY!
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THIS SPECIAL PAIR! THEY WOULD NOT BE WHERE THEY ARE WITHOUT ALL OF YOU!!!
———————————————————
We pulled Luna yesterday afternoon thanks to everyone’s networking!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I have not seen such a quick call to action in a while!!!!!!!!!
Luna had a 95% temperature and severely dehydrated
They put her on IV fluids right away and a heating pad. They also took x-rays and did not find much. This morning they found blood in her urine which could be indicative of a urinary tract infection. She is stable…not great but not on her death bed….please keep good thoughts for this sweet thing.
And thank you all for your donations to give this sweet girl a chance. I will keep you updated. She has been through so much.
Her son Blackie is still at the shelter as they have an adoption even this weekend they were going to take him too (he is remarkably healthy as of date). If he does not get adopted, they will call me and we have a foster waiting in the wings!!!!!
THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Samson went to his fosters last night and finges crossed, but he seems to be doing ok – eating and drinking. It is such a fine line with these seniors that get turned into the shelters. Sometimes they just die from a broken heart if they stay at the hospitals too long or the vets.
THANK YOU ALL WHO NETWORKED AND SUPPORTED SAMSON!!!
Cyndi

We rescued Samson last Thursday and he has been on IV fluids since then..He is not eating from a bad URI L. Thank You to all who donated for his pull and vetting but now we need more donations to continue supporting him because he will have to be in the hospital longer until is infection clears up and starts eating.
Any amount is appreciated! See ways to donate below:

Sweet Pea
Sweet Pea REALLY needs a LOVING HOME or FOSTER! **** HI EVERYONE!!
Well, I finally met this little girl for the first time while at the vets last night (she is being boarded until we can find a foster)…and WOW!! She MELTED, I MEAN GRILL…ED CHEESE MELTED my HEART!!!!!!!!!!! When I went to find her in her cage, all I could see was a bundled up brown towel…I asked the vet tech if there was a cat in that cage and she said yes, under the towel!! I then asked if she was friendly or grumpy and the vet techs said sweet, don’t be afraid. So I lifted up the towel and there this face popped out
At first she just sat there, but then once I started petting her more, she came out from underneath her towel…she started to rub all my arm and then meowed! It was so cute! Mind you, when she was turned into the shelter, the owners said she was partially feral, hated strangers, did not like kids or dogs, blah blah blah…And when we went to pull her from the shelter, they even asked me if I was sure I wanted to rescue her based on the notes the prior owner said…I said yes, let’s take a chance. So I was expecting the worst!!
Sweet Pea is ANYTHING BUT how they described her…The whole situation being turned in to the shelter for the reasons they gave makes no sense…If they truly felt that way about her, why would they keep her for 12 years??? I think they just wanted to dump her for a newer model…and after meeting her last night, I know why Sam, the RVT at Carson Shelter, wanted me to save her – he knew how sweet she was once given a chance and some attention. But he also knew that she would not stand a chance at the shelter under those towels. After last night, I am going to make sure we rescue every cat that Sam the RVT recommends!!
The main thing I am so bummed about is that I took the best videos of her and pictures of her last night – with her being so loving and then peeking her head out of the towel…but I dropped my phone in water last night, so well, it is history I am disappointed because you have to meet her or see her to believe that she is very special and we need to make sure her glory days are just that – glorious after all she has been through. All her blood work has turned out normal, she is eating ok….she is just starting to get a little cold from being at the shelter and now the vets office. She is robust and does not seem to me to look 12 years old. Sweet Pea REALLY needs a LOVING HOME or FOSTER! If anyone out there can give her that, please let me know ASAP! I want to get her in a loving home as quick as possible!! She should probably be in a quiet home that is not so crazy where she would not get lost in the shuffle.
*****If you can help, please email me at cdzacko@gmail.com and thank you everyone for helping to rescue this one. I will try to take new pictures and videos tomorrow

Please can anyone take this sweet cat in? He is currently living outside in Running Springs where it is very cold and the wild life can get him! There are many coyotes up there! He is a stray cat that had to be somebody’s at one time because he is so affectionate. The people feeding him think he is about 1 or 2 years old. They cannot take him in because they have other animals that won’t like it. Please forward this to anyone or rescue you know of that may be able to at least foster him. People can contact me by email jkmenell@charter.net or call 909-337-3157. Thanks Jessica
URGENT!!!!!!! I JUST GOT CALLED FROM THE CARSON SHELTER STAFF AND THEY WANT ME TO TRY AND RESCUE THIS SWEET SWEET CAT WHO WAS HIT BY A CAR AND BROUGHT IN TO THE SHELTER LAST WEEK.
THEY ARE GIVING ME 48 HOURS to GET HER!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!SWEET SALLY MAE WAS HIT BY A CAR AND BROUGHT TO THE CARSON SHELTER on 12/2!! At first she was very out of it and they did not know if she would survive. She is a better now but unable to urinate on her own as of now. Because she needs to be expressed throughout the day, Carson cannot keep her more than 48 more hours – she really should get out ASAP (TODAY) so a vet can really look at her and see what is going on…She also risks a urinary tract infection if not expressed regularly.

This reminds me so much of a kitty we rescued last year who also needed to be expressed and turned out to be paralyzed – see article below for Speedy and Turbo. THIS IS NOT A HOPELESS CASE and SALLY MAE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE EUTHANIZED BECAUSE OF IT!!!!
Newspaper Article: http://www.tbrnews.com/articles/2009/10/22/pets/pets1.txt
THE SHELTER CALLED ME BECAUSE THEY SAY SHE IS SUPER SWEET AND THEY KNOW THAT I WAS ABLE TO TAKE SPEEDY AND TURBO LAST YEAR….HER MEDICAL NOTES FROM THE SHELTER ARE BELOW
MY VET BILLS ARE SO HIGH, I HAVE NO WHERE TO TAKE HER
I CAN TAKE HER TO THE VET WHERE I TOOK SPEEDY AND TURBO (BELOW) WHO DID MIRACLES FOR THEM, but my balance is too high there at this time for me to bring any more cats
I would need to pay off $1500 before bringing this sweet one there
IF ANYONE CAN HELP SALLY MAE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!! IF YOU CAN RESCUE HER, FOSTER HER, DONATE TOWARDS HER, PLEASE, PLEASE CONTACT ME AT CDZACKO@GMAIL.COM!!!
