If any of you know my friend Evelyn Diaz with Hawthorne Animal Control, you know what an angel she is for the animals. She told me a little bit ago that when she was a little girl, she either wanted to be a veterinarian or a police officer – and well, now she is a little but of both!
While most of us could not do her job because our hearts would break every day at what she has to see, Evelyn is out there every day trying to help the animals – even if they go to the pound and never make it out, she says that they will at least have a few days with food in their bellies and a warm bed – something that many of these animals on the streets have not had in a very long long while. Her job is thankless and we need more people like her. – especially in the Animal Control field!
Although Evelyn meets so many animals every week, certain ones touch her heart and when she can help them, she does….which leads me to Tripod below…

Tripod
Tripod is just 7 weeks old and was hit by a car
Evelyn picked her up from the streets badly injured. She took tripod to the vet where they take some of the injured animals the vet said that she had fractured her femur and broke her pelvis. The best bet would be to amputate her leg (this why Eveyn calles her Tripod). Evenyn did not want to send this baby to the shelter because she knew what would happen to her if she did. The vet who is very rescue friendly said he would do the surgery and vetting for $500 TOTAL. Evelyn found a foster and called me to see if I could help her raise the funds for this sweetie. I hope with this network we can be Tripod’s SAnta Clause and get her the surgery she needs.

Sunny and her pups
Will be rescued by “Best Friends” rescue organization on Monday…thank you all for networking!!!
Kitty people please forward this on to all your doggy friends
I was volunteering at the Carson shelter today and met this sweet Chihuahua mom and her 3 babies. She is an owner surrender and is available now..so she is on borrowed time. The shelter does not put IP’s on animals that are available now. She is very sweet and just whined a little when I was cleaning her cage. This is NO place for a mom and babies especially little Chihuahuas (a very scary place)…PLEASE if you can take her in (she weighs about 6 or 7 lbs) go down to the shelter and adopt her now before they euthanize them. ADDRESS BELOW:
If you need help pulling her I can pull but am only available tomorrow Wednesday my number is 310 498 3226. Caryn
